  1. Sorry for this unrelated comment, but I would like to ask you how would you say this in Vietnamese:
“Surprise!” (For example, I randomly give my friend a corn on a stick)

“We were doing sit-ups, and someone farted out of nowhere” or “We were doing sit-ups, and someone randomly farted.” (The main thing I would like to get out of this is the ‘farted out of nowhere/randomly farted”

“Don’t be shocked/alarm, okay?” (For example, I say this before I’m going to present something horribly terrifying to a friend)

“I tried to persuade him, but no matter what I say, he won’t listen.”

  2. randomly = tự nhiên
someone + tự nhiên + verb

the other word that you were looking for is here http://vdict.com/r%E1%BA%AFm,2,0,0.html

“Surprise!” = Ngạc nhiên chưa! (literarlly “surprised yet!)

“Don’t be shocked/alarmed, ok?” = Đừng giật mình nhé / Đừng bị choáng nhé

“I tried to persuade him, but no matter what I say, he won’t listen.” = “Tôi / tớ / (I pronoun) đã cố thuyết phục mãi, nhưng nói gì anh ấy / ông ấy /chú ấy (he third person) cũng không nghe.”
